OVERVIEW
Shigeno’s work bridges applied sport psychology with diversity, inclusion, and social justice, with a focus on preparing students to provide holistic services to athletes and performers. Her teaching covers nearly all courses in the Master of Science in Sport and Human Performance program, including Introduction to Sport and Human Performance, Motor Learning and Skill Acquisition, Advanced Techniques in Sport and Human Performance, Contemporary Issues in Cultural Sport Psychology, and Research and Program Evaluation.
As training coordinator for the program, she oversees students’ applied mental skills training experiences through partnerships with colleges, universities, high schools, and youth sport organizations across the Chicagoland area.
