Adler University to host CreativeMornings for the first time

Adler University is hosting its first CreativeMornings event at its Chicago Campus on Friday, Sept. 27.

Students, staff, faculty, and the general public are invited to the inspirational talk hosted by CreativeMornings, a breakfast lecture series for the creative community. The event is sponsored by the University’s Office of Communications, in collaboration with the University’s Art Therapy Department.

Attendees will hear from Natasha Oliveras, the creative director of Arc Worldwide. She is a globally minded creative leader with extensive experience across all aspects of advertising including broadcast, print, radio, digital, social, experiential, on-premise, and retail/shopper. Oliveras is a strategy groupie, a constant problem solver, and is on a mission to decolonize advertising.

The Adler University-sponsored event is free, with registration and tickets required. Registration opens Friday, Sept. 20.

“Over the 10 years that I’ve been attending CreativeMornings, I have seen some amazing talks from many kinds of people creating meaningful impact within their communities,” said Jenii Stewart, Adler University’s art director. “Past speakers have included entrepreneurs, performance artists, designers, and community activists.”

“This is not only an opportunity to connect with Chicago’s diverse creative community, but to get inspired,” they added. “Plus, free breakfast is always nice.”

First created in 2008 by Brooklyn-based designer Tina Roth Eisenberg, CreativeMornings came out of a desire for an ongoing, accessible event for New York’s creative community. The concept was simple: a free talk and breakfast one Friday morning a month.

Today, CreativeMornings has expanded to cities around the world, with volunteer hosts and their teams organizing local chapters that not only celebrate a city’s creative talent, but also create an open space to connect with other creative individuals. It’s now the world’s largest face-to-face creative community, hosting local events every Friday, virtual FieldTrips every week, and jobs postings via the CreativeGuild.
