OVERVIEW
Dr. Dom (she/her) is a mother, educator, full-time clinician, and supervisor with nearly a decade of clinical experience. She is both a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Her clinical approach centers on the personal and relational processes of change, while her teaching and supervisory style highlights the importance of culture, diversity, and social justice in clinical training.
As an educator, Dr. Dom embraces engaged pedagogy—a holistic approach to education that prioritizes love, community, feedback, critical consciousness, and relational connection. She empowers students and professionals alike to explore “self of the therapist” and “person of the therapist” work, recognizing how cultural, racial, and sociopolitical traumas shape clinicians and the work they do.
In her clinical practice, Dr. Dom has worked with individuals across the lifespan—including children, adolescents in the juvenile probation system, adults, couples, and families. She currently specializes in working with high-conflict couples as well as BIPOC couples and families.
Currently, Dr. Dom serves as the clinical training director and assistant professor at Adler University. She is also the associate director at Chicago Counseling Services, where she developed and directed the agency’s first clinical training program. Her dedication to active clinical practice, ongoing education, and high-quality supervision fuels her belief that these experiences make her a more effective educator and mentor.
