Ashley Poprilo, Psy.D.

OVERVIEW

Dr. Poprilo is a clinical supervisor at Adler Community Health Services (ACHS), where she draws on extensive experience in community mental health, forensic settings, and inpatient psychiatric care. A graduate of Adler University and former ACHS intern, Dr. Poprilo is deeply committed to serving under-resourced and historically oppressed populations through both direct care and clinical supervision.

Guided by Bernard’s Discrimination Model, she supports master’s and doctoral level trainees by adapting her role as teacher, counselor, and consultant to meet each supervisee’s developmental needs. She begins each training year with a collaborative assessment of supervisees’ skill levels, setting intentional goals to build their confidence, competence, and clinical insight.

Dr. Poprilo approaches her work through an Adlerian lens, emphasizing the role of social context and systemic influence in shaping mental health. She challenges trainees to engage meaningfully with the communities they serve and to understand their own roles as change agents within embedded community partnerships.
