OVERVIEW
Christena specializes in disability inclusion and accessibility in higher education and the arts. She joined Adler University in 2021 to lead the inaugural role dedicated to expanding the accommodations process for students with disabilities. Under her leadership, the University has streamlined accommodations and broadened support, including training for faculty to strengthen inclusive learning environments.
With more than 15 years of experience in disability inclusion at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Lincoln Center, and other institutions, Christena is also the founder and president of Cultural Access Collaborative, a nonprofit that empowers Illinois’ cultural spaces to become more accessible for visitors with disabilities. Her work is driven by a passion for dismantling systemic ableism and advancing disability justice within academia and the arts.
