This fall, Adler University in Chicago will serve as a hub for the city’s creative talent, hosting a trio of inspirational talks organized by CreativeMornings, a breakfast lecture series designed to celebrate imagination, connection, and purpose.

The first event will be held Sept. 26 in Community Hall on Adler’s campus, with keynote speaker Tara Levy, founding executive director of the Liberated Arts Movement, an initiative that uses creativity as a catalyst for healing, connection, and cultural change. Rooted in the belief that art can shape a more compassionate and emotionally intelligent world, the organization champions expression for all.

CreativeMornings is scheduled to return on campus on Oct. 31 and Nov. 14, continuing Adler’s partnership in celebrating creativity across the city. Two weeks before each event, visit the Creative Mornings Chicago website to register.

“It’s wonderful that Adler University will be a place where entrepreneurs, artists, designers, and community activists can gather and learn from one another,” said Jenii Stewart-Goldberg, Adler University’s art director. “These events are not only opportunities to connect with Chicago’s creative community, but to get inspired.”

“I hope many of our students, faculty, and staff attend to hear from some of the most amazing speakers and meet the creative people who are impacting and reshaping their communities,” they added.

First created in 2008 by Brooklyn-based designer Tina Roth Eisenberg, CreativeMornings came out of a desire for an ongoing, accessible event for New York’s creative community. The concept was simple: a free talk and breakfast one Friday morning a month.

Today, CreativeMornings has expanded to cities around the world, with volunteer hosts and their teams organizing local chapters that not only celebrate a city’s creative talent, but also create an open space to connect with other creative individuals. It’s now the world’s largest face-to-face creative community, hosting local events every Friday, virtual FieldTrips every week, and jobs postings via the CreativeGuild.

Adler University hosted its first — and currently only — CreativeMornings meeting Sept. 20, 2024, when attendees heard from Natasha Oliveras, the creative director of Arc Worldwide. She shared her creative approach and extensive experience across all aspects of advertising including broadcast print, radio, digital, social, experiential, and retail/shopper. The event was sponsored by the University’s Office of Communications, in collaboration with the University’s Art Therapy Department.
