Overview

Overview

As an alumni of the Industrial Organizational Psychology program at Adler University, I have a passion for creating high value learning experiences for students. I see my role as setting the students up for success as they enter the workforce and decide where their interests and strengths lie. In addition to theory and practical instruction, I want to provide as much insight as I can into organizational life and how to translate their learning into working with clients and employers.

I use lecture to provide a theoretical base to layer in the more pragmatic and practical skills through discussion and activities. As a consultant in the workforce, I also want to share the work I am doing and examples of my experience to bring the teaching to life. I also bring in other professionals where possible to add additional perspectives and help the students build their network.

In addition to classroom learning I want to be a support to students on their journey. I often get asked for my perspective on a situation they face at work, or to support their research, or to provide guidance on practicum placement or resume writing. My passion for working with students is more wholistic in nature, being a resource to them to leverage in a way that suits their learning goals.

Through my extensive teaching experience in organizations, I have leveraged different elements of adult learning practices and facilitation models. I also want to role model frameworks and skills that the students can then leverage in their own work and career.

Vancouver Campus

Adler University in Vancouver has been, like Canada itself, born and built with an open mind. Located in the midst of one of the world’s most exciting and breathtaking cities, Adler University reflects a true Canadian spirit. It’s smart, inclusive and determined to make a world of difference. By design, our Vancouver campus echoes the Adler values and intent down every hall and in every room. It is built to live, breathe and inspire those with the passion to pursue a more just society. This is where the work gets done.

At Adler Vancouver, you’ll find multiple collaborative areas with the absolute latest technology. Learning areas and windows have literally been situated to stimulate thought. To some, that may sound odd, but these things do matter. If students are given the space, opportunity and technology to achieve their goals, they are more likely to rock the boat of conventional thought.
